Sorry to see you go
We are very sorry to see Martyn Bostock leave the band. Martyn has been with Arnfield Brass for two years, starting on back row cornet and then moving onto Bb Bass. This was a huge challenge for him as he'd never played a bass before. He did really well adjusting to such a big change and has developed into a competent bass player. Not only did he contribute to the sound of the band, he also became a very good friend and well liked by all. Unfortunately he is moving to the Lake District with his family. We wish him all the best and good luck settling into his new home. You will be missed!!!

Tameside Contest
Everybody is busily practising in preperation for Tameside Contest 2010. The band are excited by this new challenge and are looking forward to taking part at Dukinfield Townhall on 28th March. Keep up the good work guys!
If anyone would like to take part in this contest and soen't have a band to go with, you are more than welcome to come along and help us out as we currently have a few spare seats. For more information please call Ady on 01457 852365 or email him at adrian@arnfieldbrass.co.uk

Lottery Bid
The band are in the last stages of applying to the lottery for a grant for a new set of instruments. Fingers crossed! If we succeed this will have a big impact on the band, giving us a better sound and an improved performance when entertaining the public.

Whit Friday
The band had a very enjoyable evening dispite the awful weather. We competed in eight of the contests within the Tameside area and did slightly better in the results than the previous year. We would like to thanks Bullocks coach for providing us with such a friendly driver.
We're already looking forward to next year!
New faces within the ranks
We would like to welcome Chris Neil, Andy Brass, Dom Brass and Elaine
Birnie to the band. We hope they are looking forward to the summer engagements and the Prom night in September. It's great to have them on board!

Are you looking for a band to join?
The band are currently looking to recruit some new players. If you are currently thinking about starting a new hobby, looking for a band to join or want to start playing again after a break... why not come along one Wednesday evening and see what we are all about? We have a number of positions available but welcome anyone who fancies coming along.
